Created attachment 2287 [details] Screenshot The main window size, the list views columns and other sizes in the layout become broken when doing the following steps: 1. Execute Claws Mail. 2. If the window started maximized then restore (unmaximize) it. 3. If the window is okay, then adjust sizes of columns and other elements and close the program. 4. Execute it again: it should start normally, in a non-maximized window. 5. Now maximize and close. 7. Execute again. 8. Restore window. 9. The window appears greatly downsized in the top-left corner of the screen and the layout is broken. I am using Debian 11, Gnome 3.38, Wayland and a HiDpi monitor, Claws Mail 4.1.0 GTK3 version, installed from debian-backports.
Compiled the latest git version and the problem is still there. I also noticed that with each restart of the program the size of the messages list window becomes smaller and smaller.
I also deleted the whole ~/.claws-mail dir and reconfigured v4 from scratch to exclude any migration problems. No, this has nothing to do with migration.
presumbaly a wayland problem. Can you try with X11?
It always works fine here, using KDE, X11, and a HiDpi monitor.
Confirmed, in X11 it works okay, it's the problem with wayland. Launching with XDG_BACKEND=x11 does not fix it, only using the Gnome Xorg session, but I don't want to switch back to X11 because it has the famous nonfix keylogging vulnerability and is generally deprecated. Also Claws Mail is the only program I ever seen having such a weird minimize/maximize problem. I love Claws Mail and used it for years, and in Wayland as well, so sad it's all broken in the version 4 now.
It works without problems here.
