Most anything I do rasies these error messages:

You'd have noticed those are not error messages but warnings.

How can you tell? The don't follow UNIX tradition of saying ERROR or WARNING.

And since they make the terminal window unusable, I'll call it an error.

Either way, we agree, a bug.

Because the message clearly states "WARNING".

It's not clear that it is a claws-mail bug, though. You say that almost anyhting you do raises those warnings and that they make the terminal window unusable.

I always launch claws-mail from the terminal, but never see those warnings.

Can you give 2 examples of something you do in Claws Mail which always results in those warnings being printed to your terminal?

What is your GTK3 theme, Gary?
Comment 6 Thorsten Maerz 2022-04-07 13:06:50 UTC
I get these warnings, if I make any of the column headers (e.g. number of read/unread, from, subject, ...) too small to display even a singe character.
These messages fire, when hovering over such a header.
One affected theme is Adwaita, it seems to me, as if themes with less padding around these headers are less affected.

closing this as INVALID, it's a bug but it's not our bug.
Comment 8 wwp 2022-04-07 13:14:22 UTC
Yeah I get those warnings w/ the Adwaita theme as well. Over.

I don't think that is the case with my configuration.

If you ask a library to do something it can't do, that is your bug, not the libraries.

When I move the mouse out of the claws-mail window, and when I move it into the claws-mail window.
