I've configured Preferences, Display, Summaries, Displayed columns to show Folder and Total only. That works for a short while, then the remaining two columns, New and Unread, start being displayed as well. The preferences still show only Folder and Total. If I remove and then re-add a column, the display is correctly set back to just Folder and Total for a short while, then the process repeats.
When you say "for a short while", do you mean without restarting, or does it change after a restart?
Just tested. The problem certainly occurs when restarting Claws. I'll update this bug if I see it occur without a restart.
Are you quitting Claws Mail normally, (e.g. with the WM's X button, or /File/Exit), or are you killing Claws Mail to quit?

You are using the gtk3tree branch, which is an experimental, in-development branch. When it is merged into the the gtk3 branch, and if this is still occurring, re-open this bug report.
