How can the current description of the GnuPG plugins be updated best? https://claws-mail.org/plugin.php?plugin=gpg today has " Although deprecated, the PGP/Inline method of signing or encrypting emails is still available, because some mail user agents like Outlook do not handle PGP/Mime well, more than ten years after creation of this standard. " since Gpg4win Version 3.0.0 released 2017-09-19 there is an Outlook Add-in that handles OpenPGP/MIME nicely. (https://www.gpg4win.de/change-history.html) My suggestion is to change the last two lines to .. " still available, so you can switch to it for communication partners that have still elder mail user agents that cannot handle the standard OpenPGP/MIME. " (Where are those descriptions saved btw? I did not find them in the main git.)
I updated the text, based on your suggestion. You won't find these descriptions in git because they are not in git.)
Thanks @Paul!
Hi, Unless I'm missing something obvious, the Outlook Add-in mentioned by reporter only handles S/MIME [1], not PGP/MIME, so in my view the previous version of the text still applies. Maybe such fact can be added, but removing the other seems a bit missleading for Claws Mail site readers. [1] https://www.gpg4win.org/doc/en/gpg4win-compendium_33.html
Hi Ricardo, GpgOL can handle OpenPGP/MIME since version 3.0.0 of Gpg4win, where it is included. The compendium page you have linked is the old one. See https://www.gpg4win.de/version3.html (I now see that my original link to section "Version 3.0.0 released" of https://www.gpg4win.de/change-history.html were not specific enough about OpenPGP/MIME.)
