Description Udo Steinberg 2004-03-18 00:48:05 UTC
Recent CVS versions of Sylpheed-claws perform the following steps after each
message downloaded from an IMAP server:

"Setting summary from message data"
"Sorting Summary"

When downloading huge amounts of mail (say ~1000 messages), this is very annoying.
Previous versions performed these steps once after all messages had been
downloaded which was factor 5-10 faster than current CVS.

Also the GUI increments message count numbers in folder view after each
downloaded message, instead of setting it to the final value after the
entire mail download is complete.

Yep, this is a feature that was introduced in sylpheed-main. I'm thinking about
something that would be more appropriate (probably `throttling`).

We're back to the previous method now
