This bug was filed against 3.9.3 and is still (or again) present for me in 3.14.0:

I added a subscription to my google private calendar ICS URL after turning SSL certificate verification off.
When loading the calendar, I get the windows message "The application stopped working".

Works OK in 3.11 under linux

There have been several bugfixes to vcalendar made recently, mostly for crashes in the Windows version, so chances are your particular crash is fixed already. New version is coming out next week, so let's wait for that.
