On starting claws on win 7, I get a dialog box that says... claws-mail.exe: claws-mail.exe - System Error The program can't start because pthreadGC2.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. I did try reinstalling with the same result. There is a copy of the referenced DLL on my machine in c:\program files (x86)\GNU\Claws Mail which makes me think it's looking for it some other location. Can someone tell we where it should be? Interestingly, the program does start, but I'm sure somewhere along the line I'll find some part of the code that doesn't work as expected. I didn't have this problem with 3.10.{?} Bruce
Well I think the "missing" dll may be a red herring. When I installed it, it installed to c:\program files (x86)\claws mail where older versions installed to c:\program files (x86)\gnu\claws mail (notice GNU in there). If I move the new claws mail folder to be under the GNU folder, things work as expected (ie no error dialog)
Are you sure you do not have some files left over from older Claws Mail installation? Recent versions (since July 2015 or so) do not use pthreadGC2 at all.
Must have been the case. Manually cleaned out the old claws stuff, reinstalled, and all is good now. Sorry for the false alarm.
