Description greencoppermine 2015-10-30 22:40:05 UTC
Claws-mail freezes when I activate my VPN. I then have to kill claws-mail and restart it again in order to use it.

Use Network Manager support, or click the offline button followed by the online button. This will terminate your imap connection.

Good day!

I have the same issue in 3.17.1.

NetworkManager support is on. Everything work with this VPN in other client.

hm, from the description it looks like claws uses blocking network access and when the VPN makes the network connection stall claws locks up.

This is not nice but detecting stale network connections is challenging and so is using separate threads for UI and networking.

This speculation adds nothing here.

Care to explain why do you need to disconnect from the network when changing network configuration then?

It's kind of silly requirement.

I didn't say it was a requirement, silly or not, and I didn't say that you need to disconnect from the network when changing network configuration. It was a diagnostic suggestion, such as is generally pertinent to bug reports.
