Gmail not displaying text outside the UTF-8 block

My name is José María Mateos. That name is encoded in the From: header of mails sent using Claws-mail as:

From: =?UTF-8?B?Sm9zw6kgTWFyw61h?= Mateos <chema@rinzewind.org>

My surname is not included in the UTF-8 block. Gmail displays these e-mails as shown on the attached screenshot: the surname is missing.

If I change my name to Jose María Mateos (just the middle word containing UTF-8 chars), it works fine. It also works fine if I enclose my name (written corretly) in quotes.

I'm filling this bug with claws-mail because I don't know if this is the standard way of encoding headers or if the whole name should be placed inside the UTF-8 block. If this is not a bug, I'll file it with the Google people.

It's a gmail bug. See RFC 2047.
