Description Daniel Mota Leite 2012-12-08 20:39:28 UTC
a few months ago i migrated my email to a imap server and changed the filtering from 4 email accounts (2 pop, one local, one imap) to move the messaged to the various imap folders

many time all works fine, but others (specially on background fetchs) i get most of the messages in the inbox, without any filtering. If i select those messages and run "filter select messages" all works fine.

So looks like that on background fetch and filtering have some issue, probably related to imap, as before the migration i had no issue ( i cant remember if i updated claws at that time).

Right now i', running claws 3.9.0

Please run the filtering log and inspect its output. Your problem is probably due to your (account-specific and non-account-specific) filtering rules.

The filtering is strong, so I'm going to close this as 'WORKSFORME' but if your filtering log leads you to believe that there is a real bug here then please re-open this report with more data.

I have more information, but still need to do more tests

i finally manage to get a filtering log of not moved email:

[22:06:10] filtering message (incorporation)
            message file: /home/higuita/.claws-mail/tempfolder/processing/125

> message matches
[22:06:10] applying action [ move "#imap/Local-imap/Linux/Software/aufs" ]

So looking at this log, the message should be put in #imap/Local-imap/Linux/Software/aufs ... yet, it show up in the #imap/Local-imap/INBOX

the filtering log don't show anything more and the claws cli output also don't show any helpful message.

i will try next to run with --debug and monitor the network log next, but either way, the problem doesn't seem to be in the filtering, but on the moving of the message.

strangely the aufs messages seems to be special, as many of the not moved messages are from this mailing list... yet other mailing never fail and some aufs messages are moved successful.

finally, seems that only background fetch have the problem, every time i do a manual fetch all seems to work.

i'm now using "3.9.2-dirty" , but its the 3.9.2 release (10d2dc8bb8e0a6c66b94fbcd83a06a6958439467)
