One of the nice things of mulberry mail is that it can list folders which contain unread messages. If one has a few hundred folders spread over a hand full of servers, this makes reading new mail a lot easier. It would be nice if claws had such a feature. Ideally this would show up like a server, called 'unread' and then have the mailboxes with unread mail in them under it. so the folder list would look like follows * unread - server 1 + folder a (count of unread messages shown) + folder b (count of unread messages shown) + folder d (count of unread messages shown) - server 3 + folder y * server 1 - folder a (some unread message sin this folder) - folder b (some unread message sin this folder) - folder c (only read mail in here) - folder d (some unread message sin this folder) * server 2 - folder m (only read mail in here) - folder n (only read mail in here) * server 3 - folder x (only read mail in here) - folder y (some unread message sin this folder) - folder z (only read mail in here)
I too would to see only folders containing unread messages, but this seems a complex way of doing it. What's wrong with a "Hide read folders" option, analogous to "Hide read messages"?
(In reply to comment #1) > What's wrong with a "Hide read folders" option, > analogous to "Hide read messages"? This may work as well. OTOH mulberry got me used to seeing both at the same time. One could always collapse the unread hierarchy or servers that one does not want to see in the way I described it. The benefit being that one could drag a message from 'folder a' (has unread messages) to 'folder c' (only read mail in this folder).
I want to bring up this enhancement again because I recently switched from Gnus to Claws and this is nearly the only feature I'm missing. In Gnus, only folders (called "groups" there) are visible which contain unread or marked messages, and one can switch to the full list with a keystroke. As folders with unread or marked massages are the ones which are "interesting" for me, this is really a helpful feature.
