On a fairly fresh Windows 10 x64 installation, Claws (from claws-mail-4.0.0-1-64bit.exe) would not start after installation:

 claws-mail.exe - System Error
 The code execution cannot proceed because msvcr100.dll was
 not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

msvcr100.dll was indeed missing, but after installing it Claws would start just fine. Maybe this can be added to the prerequisites / Readme somehow?

I had the same issue, and the proposed resolution also worked for me.

Claws Mail 4.1.0 no longer depends on the MSVC 2010 redistributable.  The 3.x builds still do, though.

The Claws for Windows webpage should be updated to include dependency information.
