I entered a meeting that will occur in six months, and now I'd like to view today's meetings, or vice-versa. The only way I can get there is to click the '<' or '>' buttons at the top, and go forward or backward one week per click (6 months=24 clicks). My apologies if this was fixed in 3.7.10.
You can right-click in the calendar area and choose 'Go to today' from the menu, or, of course, switch to 'list view'
Ok, I found the 'Go to today' item on the context menu, but 'list view' isn't there. Perhaps I need the latest version of claws-mail. Even with those two options, a 'Go to <Date>' item would be useful, and it would be nice to have month or year view. The list view sounds like it mostly solves the problem; wish I could find it.
right-click the item in the folder list on the right, there you will find the 'list view' option
err... the folder list on the _left_, not on the right
Oh, wow, that was embarrassing.. requesting a feature that's already present! Ok, how about putting the list view/week view/month view items into the context menu that you get when you right-click on the calendar? That's where I was fruitlessly searching for it. Or put a few icons at the bottom of the calendar window, for list/week/month view? This is not so much a bug as a human interface design issue. Or maybe you could call it a bug in the user... :-) Once you know where the option is, you'll never have think about it again. It only bites new users.
And I'd still like a 'go to <date>' option in the context menu, as I don't want to click more than 2 times to get anywhere. Thanks again!
