FAVE 2005

I heard about this event recently. Music production, sound recording, Trinity Road (ex-)Church, sounds good.

"FAVE is a community event for people who are interested in free and open source creative software on Linux and other computer platforms. It's taking place on Saturday August 20th 2005 at the Trinity Community & Arts Centre in Bristol, UK." www.fave.org.uk

Hmmm……. well, it was shit. To be fair, it wasn't 100% shit, but near enough, dammit!

It's a since long time I decided that open source (let's say linux) meeting would be boring.

Now that's hardly constructive criticism, is it Paul? It was a volunteer-run community event, so if it didn't meet your standards then you've only got yourself to blame. I do know that other people enjoyed it, and you're more than welcome to help make it better for next year.

I knew I shouldn't have let googlebot trawl my blog ;-p

But seriously, I take your point, absolutely. My comment is purely subjective, and I do only have myself to blame. I did enjoy certain parts of it, but the day out as a whole didn't leave me feeling great. So, for anyone else reading this in hope of getting a feeling for the event, realise that what you're getting is my feelings and not a feeling for the event.

Hmmm, so you're planning on another one next year? I may be interested in helping out, if I have the time, enthusiasm, and, more importantly, think that I actually have something worthwhile to offer.
