The current search in claws-mail is very slow on large amounts of emails. I looked at various alternatives, but most require significant changes (like using MariaDB or some dedicated indexing database). But, it seems "notmuch" could integrate with claws-mail and provide excellent search features for large amounts of emails. https://notmuchmail.org/ Please consider supporting it! Thank you.

In a recent time I was playing with mu4e¬much clients for Emacs and with neomutt/notmuch...the performance is really great, but just wanted to add that besides 'notmuch', there is also option to use "mu". Both mu & notmuch are using Xapian... Also wonder if potentially such improved search support in Claws has to be done in the core or it could be possibly done via plugin?
