In http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362297 users reported a crash of Claws on startup with notification enabled.  This has to do with some deprecated APIs in GTK+.

Changes related to this bug have been committed.
Please check latest CVS and update the bug accordingly.

The notification plugin and libnotify are completely unrelated to startup-notification.
