It would be nice if claws could be updated to permit using gpe contacts as the address book. There's a dbus app "contactinfos" that permits applications to use either gpe or the internal "contacts" database, presumably via some type of API (speculation). At least one other application uses that for retrieving contact info. Benefit: Internal "contacts" application is weak, supports very limited storage of contact info. Gpe supports storing a far greater amount of contact info, and is integrated w/other gpe applications.
Apart from that an enhanced address book with more comfortable entry addition would be great on desktop computers.
Even if the platform is not supported, the new contacts should address platform-independent requests, so closing as fixed.
