implemented in version 3.9.3 Not exactly, I think. The search now matches even if the characters entered are not the beginning of the name or the email address. The special characters are ignored. So, with my example, I can now enter "work" or "bob", but adding "[" won't make any difference. In practice, this is just as good, probably even better, so as a matter of fact, this is fixed for me.
