This has been reported on Ubnuntu Launchpad as the above bug.

From the launchpad report:

I've setup my Gmail account to use "#imap/x@gmail.com@imap.gmail.com/[Gmail]/Trash" (where x is my username)

then I've deleted just 1 email.
